April 30, 2023: Marathon Training

This was another week of tapering for the marathon in two weeks. I pushed it on the hills to try to get my heart rate up and ran the downhill fast enough to get a personal record.

It is a beautiful run along the Wilcat Brook. One of my favorite places to run.


Even with the hills, it is difficult for me to get my heart rate up into the anaerobic zone for very long.


Garmin Connect does a great job of displaying the zones achieved.



Since pushing the hills and wanting to get my heart rate higher, I welcome running the mountains more that I ever have.


From this date, there was one week to go until the Providence Marathon on May 7, 2023.
