April 24, 2023: Marathon Training

This week I was tapering for the marathon in two weeks. However, I ran it hard to try to get my heart rate up and practice running hills.

I was happy with my pace on this run with the hilly terrain.

I have been working to get my cadence at close to 180 spm. This run I was fairly close on average.

Running hard on the hills helped to raise my heart rate into HIIT zone. I had been using the rower to get my heart rate up. However, it helps to use high intensity work on specifically the exercises that I need to perform well on, including swim, bike, and run.
