We try to eat a lot of whole foods and save money in the process.
One of our methods is to make our own broth.
We use all the leftovers and scraps from vegetables that we cut up
We save them in a container or bag in the freezer. When we have enough, we combine them in a large pot with water and boil them.
We then strain out the solids. They are added to the compost bin that is by our sink. When that is full, we add them to the outdoor compost bins for our garden.
What is left, after straining, is a broth that can be combined with rice, quinoa or other dishes to add flavor and other nutrients similar to a soup.
